TCG Sell ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that helps trading card sellers scan cards and manage their own listings. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. We have designed TCG Sell to operate without collecting personal information, and this policy reflects that.
1. Scope
This policy applies only to information handled by the TCG Sell mobile app on iOS and Android. Listings created outside the app — for example, directly on a third-party marketplace — are not covered by this policy, and any data associated with them is governed by the privacy policy of the platform where they were created.
2. Information We Collect
TCG Sell only collects information that is directly required to create and manage your listings:
- Card scan images. When you use the scan feature, the app captures photos from your device's camera to identify and catalog cards.
- Listing details you enter. This includes price, quantity, and card condition for each listing you create.
- Pricing history. The app keeps track of the prices of the listings you create so you can review them over time.
- Shipping preferences. Shipping costs and shipping types you configure (regular, express, domestic, international).
- Listing identifiers. A listing ID generated by the app for each entry.
3. How We Use Information
The information above is used exclusively to:
- Identify and catalog the cards you scan.
- Display, organize, and edit the listings you create.
- Track the pricing history of your listings.
- Apply the shipping options you configured to your listings.
- Back up your entries so you can restore them if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of automated decision-making that would produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Backup & Storage
The listing data you enter — together with the listing ID generated by the app — is automatically backed up so it can be restored later. Backups contain only the listing information described in Section 2. They do not contain personal identifiers, because the app does not collect any.
Card scan images are processed on your device and are not retained on our servers beyond what is required to operate the scanning feature and the listings you create from them.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Information may only be disclosed when required by law, a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TCG Sell users.
6. Data Retention
Listing data is retained for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete individual listings at any time from within the app; deletion removes the entry from the active backup. Because the app does not create accounts, there is no profile to close — removing your data is as simple as deleting the entries or uninstalling the app.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the listing information handled by the app, including encrypted transport for any data sent off the device. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Camera Permission
TCG Sell requests access to your device's camera solely to scan trading cards. Camera frames are used to recognize cards and to capture images you choose to attach to a listing. The camera is never activated in the background, and the app does not access your device's photo library unless you explicitly select an image from it.
9. Children's Privacy
TCG Sell is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
10. GDPR — Rights of EU & EEA Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you certain rights over personal data. Because TCG Sell does not collect personal information, most of these rights do not apply in practice. To the extent any information handled by the app could be considered personal data under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the information associated with your use of the app.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive the information in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The legal basis for processing listing data is the performance of the service you requested when you chose to create a listing (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data controller is identified in the Contact section below.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
In the past twelve months, TCG Sell has not collected personal information as defined by the CCPA, has not sold or shared personal information, and has not used personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
12. Apple App Store Disclosures
In accordance with Apple's App Store guidelines, the app's "Privacy Nutrition Label" reflects the following:
- Data Not Linked to You: listing details (price, quantity, condition), shipping preferences, pricing history, listing IDs, and card scan images used for app functionality.
- Data Not Collected: name, email, phone number, address, precise or coarse location, contacts, health & fitness data, financial information, browsing history, search history, user content outside of listings, identifiers, usage data, diagnostics, and advertising data.
- Tracking: TCG Sell does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced within the app before they take effect.
